NUIG win battle of the colleges

A brace of first half goals helped NUI Galway register an eight-point win on home soil at Dangan.

This FBD League clash saw Sligo IT improve from their previous outings, yet they were faced by a determined NUIG side, who led by 2-05 to 1-03 at half-time.

Goals from Cathal Kenny and Kieran Conroy teed up that half-time lead for NUIG, with Alan Freeman the Sligo goalscorer.

NUIG proved stronger on the restart as they edged away for a well-earned success.
