Cork hurlers set to meet with board and McCarthy
A meeting between the Cork County Board, the 2008 panel and the hurling management will take place in the coming days — once the board clarifies a number of points raised by the hurlers.
The stay-away players have agreed in principle to meet with the board and Gerald McCarthy, along with mediator Olan Kelleher, in a bid to solve the current dispute.
But only after the details and logistics for the meeting are agreed between both sides.
However, it is understood the players will hold firm in their insistence they won’t return to the Rebel fold as long as Gerald McCarthy stays as manager.
With the board adamant McCarthy will not be removed, finding a resolution satisfactory to all parties will not be easy.
