Late show earns students draw in Kiltoom

A last-gasp pointed free from Gareth Bradshaw earned NUIG a 1-05 to 0-08 draw with Roscommon at Kiltoom.

The students got off to the perfect start, thanks to a Cathal McHugh goal after 17 seconds, however with Ger Heneghan impressive, Roscommon fought back to lead by 0-07 to 1-02 at the break.

A wind-assisted NUIG were inspired on the restart after their goalkeeper Liam Grant stopped a Heneghan penalty effort.

However, Roscommon were held to just one second half point, which looked to be the winner, until Bradshaw's effort squared things up.
