DIT survive late Kilkenny scare

Kilkenny almost pulled off the shock of the day in the O'Byrne Cup, before DIT hit their stride late on at Freshford.

Three Mark Vaughan points steered DIT to a 0-06 to 0-03 half-time lead.

Vaughan edged them four points clear on the restart before Kilkenny mounted a comeback.

Goals from Mark Nolan and Robert Shore gave them a 2-04 to 0-07 advantage and although a Liam Brennan brace levelled the tie in the final minutes, six unanswered points saw the students pull through.
