Harps' fairytale ends as Corofin win Connacht title

Corofin (Galway) 0-11 Eastern Harps (Sligo) 0-06

Eastern Harps' first provincial final appearance ended in defeat as Galway side Corofin secured their fourth Connacht Club SFC title at Pearse Stadium today.

Corofin, the 1998 All-Ireland champions, started strongly with successive points from Alan Burke (0-02), Gary Sice and Alan O'Donovan.

Harps stopped the rot with a free from Paul Taylor but they still trailed by 0-06 to 0-01 at half-time.

The Sligo men rallied with scores from Taylor and Thomas Cryan, but a late Joe Canney point put the seal on Corofin's triumph.
