Longford teenager Michael Quinn has been signed up by Australian Rules club Essendon.

Longford teenager Michael Quinn has been signed up by Australian Rules club Essendon.

The 18-year-old is one of six rookie signings for the Melbourne AFL side for the coming season.

He will be their first Irish or international recruit and joins the rush of young Irish footballers going to Australia for pre-season trials.
