New Dublin boss Gilroy faces Sherlock problem
Dublin Co Committee has appointed Pat Gilroy (St Vincent's) as manager of the senior football team for a two-year period.
Paul Nugent (Thomas Davis), Paddy O’ Donoghue (Kilmacud Crokes) and Mickey Whelan (St Vincent's) were approved as selectors, it was announced last night.
As Gilroy prepares to meet the media for the first time as Dublin boss today, one of the county's stalwarts is still trying to make up his mind about his future.
Fellow 1995 All Ireland medal winner Jason Sherlock will wait until Christmas to gather his thoughts about whether to commit for another season.
He made his comments after putting GAA fans through their paces at a special Gillette organised coaching clinic with fellow intercounty star Sean Óg O Hailpín who is very downbeat about Cork's chances in 2009.
