Loughnane's future hangs in the balance

Ger Loughnane will have to wait another few days until it is known whether he will continue as Galway senior hurling manager into 2009.

Loughnane, who famously led his native Clare to a brace of All-Ireland titles in the 1990s, boldly claimed that he would guide Galway to Liam McCarthy Cup success within two years of his appointment.
