Kenny waiting on decision
Cork hurling star Tom Kenny remains in the dark on whether or not he might have to explain an incident at the end of last Sunday’s All Ireland semi-final.
TV pictures showed Kenny hurting Kilkenny’s Cha Fitzpatrick with a hurley jab which saw the Cats midfielder taken off.
However, despite a plea from the Kilkenny Co Board that no action be taken against him, Kenny still has to wait until the GAA’s CCCC (Central Council Control Committee) return from holidays to find out if they intend taking the matter further.
The CCCC are not scheduled to meet until Monday and in the meantime the Grenagh man must play a waiting game.
Much will depend on the referee’s report and whether or not the incident is included in it. One way or the other, though, Kenny will be free to assist his club in the Mid Cork JHC.
