Kernan and Mallon make Armagh line-up

Wing-back Aaron Kernan and centre-forward Brian Mallon have both been included in the Armagh team for Sunday's Ulster SFC final against Fermanagh at Clones (throw-in 2pm).

The pair come in as the only changes manager Peter McDonnell has made to the side that defeated Down by 1-12 to 0-11 at the semi-final stage.

After shaking off a leg injury, Kernan has edged out Brendan Donaghy for a place in the half-back line, while Mallon returns to lead the attack at the expense of Paddy McKeever.

Mallon was sprung from the bench to replace McKeever against Down and kicked a point to crown his first championship appearance since 2006.

McDonnell's selection for the final also sees starts for Finian Moriarty and Charlie Vernon, who both made their championship debuts against Cavan last month.

2000 and 2002 All-Star forward Oisin McConville is expected to play some part in the Anglo-Celt Cup decider, after being named on the bench.

McConville has battled his way into contention after a series of back injuries plagued much of his season.

"We'd be confident that Oisin will be ready for some action on Sunday," McDonnell admitted.

Armagh are hoping to secure the Ulster title for the seventh time in ten seasons. Of their previous 34 final appearances, they have won 13.

If the Orchard county win this weekend, they will join Monaghan in joint-second place in the Ulster honours table with 14 titles. Cavan lead the way with 38 wins.

When Armagh last met Fermanagh in the championship in 2006, they won an Ulster semi-final replay by 0-16 to 1-08.
