Antrim unchanged for trip to Waterford

Despite last weekend's hammering by Galway, the Antrim management duo of Dominic McKinley and Terence 'Sambo' McNaughton have made no changes in personnel for today's All-Ireland SHC second round qualifier clash with Waterford (Walsh Park, throw-in 2pm).

The Saffrons suffered a 26-point drubbing on home soil seven days ago and will have to up their game if they are avoid a similar result against a Deise side that is still wounded by their Munster championship exit to Clare.

McKinley and McNaughton have made a number of positional switches for the trip south, the most notable of which sees Cormac Donnelly switch from an attacking role to centre-back.

The Ulster champions will also line out this afternoon with a new midfield unit in Karl McKeegan and Eddie McCloskey. Neil McGarry remains at full-back.

McNaughton, who is confident of an improved showing from his players, said: "During the week we had a good chat about how the Galway game went and we got a favourable reaction from the players.

"We know none of us can hide away from this game and that we have to take ownership of it."

Antrim lost by 19 points to Waterford when the sides met in the National League in March.

But with it being new manager Davy Fitzgerald's first game in charge of the Deise, the visitors will be hopeful of a good start at least.
