Moran suspension upheld

The GAA's Central Hearings Committee has imposed a four-week suspension on Dublin defender Colin Moran.

During last Sunday's Leinster SFC semi-final at Croke Park, Moran, the former Dublin captain, received a yellow card from referee Padraig Hughes for the high elbow challenge he put in on Westmeath attacker Dermot Bannon.

The midfield clash left Bannon with shoulder joint damage and he had to be substituted in the 23rd-minute.

The suspension applies from the date of the game - June 29 - and the player has the option to appeal the suspension to the Central Appeals Committee.
