Wins for Kilkenny and Clare in division 4

Kilkenny 2-13 London 0-15

Goals in either half from top scorer Michael Grace proved decisive for the Kilkenny footballers as they claimed their first league points of 2008 at Nowlan Park.

The Cats made a slow start in front of a very large home support.

With Clare's Paul Hehir outstanding at midfield for London, the visitors held a 0-10 to 1-4 interval lead.

Just a point separated the sides as injury-time approached before Grace's second goal sealed the win.

Clare 1-9 Offaly 1-8

A 67th-minute point from Michael O'Hara was the match winner as Offaly lost their first game of the league campaign at Ennis.

A fisted Gary Brennan goal ensured a 1-3 to 0-5 interval lead for Clare.

Ciaran McManus was a strong influence for the visitors and his industrious play along with a John O'Hara goal levelled the tie at 1-8 apiece late on.

However, Clare were certainly resilient and although O'Hara's point came with three minutes remaining, the hosts dug deep for victory.

Tipperary 2-8 Waterford1-10

Barry Grogan saved Tipperary's blushes as the Premier county stole a late victory at Dungarvan.

Grogan's injury-time goal ensured the visitors finished as one-point winners.

A wind assisted Waterford made the best use of possession in the early stages and led by 0-6 to 0-3 at the interval.

A goal from Eddie Rockett on the restart ensured a home win looked likely but Tipp responded well to this pressure in defence and attack.
