Division 4 victories for Carlow and Clare

ALLIANZ NFL DIVISION 4 ROUND-UP - Carlow 1-10 Tipperary 1-9, Dr. Cullen Park

A solid second half display from Paul Bealin's charges ensured high-flying Tipperary were brought back to earth at Dr. Cullen Park.

The visitors began the game well and a Robbie Costigan goal helped them to a well deserved 1-6 to 0-8 interval lead.

Barry Grogan kept Tipperary in front but the second half dismissal of Philip Austin and Aidan Foley, along with Carlow's goal, compounded Tipp's woes as the Barrowsiders triumphed.

Clare 0-11 Wicklow 0-8, Cusack Park

Frank Doherty's Clare side turned a poor first half into a winning result as they recorded their second league win by overhauling Wicklow at Cusack Park.

In wet conditions, Clare took an early lead but with John Paul Dalton on song for the visitors, the sides were level at 0-4 each after 25 minutes.

However, Clare responded well on the restart and regained a lead they would not relinquish with Doonbeg clubman David Tubridy kicking six points.

London 0-5 Antrim 3-19, Ruislip

Antrim secured top spot in Division 4 thanks to a facile 23-point win over London at Ruislip.

Four points from Paddy Cunningham was the difference in the opening half as the Saffrons claimed a 0-8 to 0-4 interval lead.

This was as close as the Exiles would get as Jody Gormley's charges turned on the style in the second half.

With Thomas McCann, Brendan Hasson and Justin Crozier notching second half goals, Antrim cantered home.

Offaly 0-13 Waterford 1-8, Tullamore

Despite Offaly holding a 0-8 to 0-3 interval lead at O'Connor Park, with Niall McNamee, Ciaran McManus and defender Nigel Grennan among the scorers, Waterford almost pulled off a shock win.

Ger and Connie Power, along with Paul and Gary Hurney, gave solid displays in the second half with Liam O'Lionain also on target.

A 50th-minute Ger Power goal cut the gap to a point with six minutes remaining. However, a late John Reynolds point ensured the Offaly win.
