Emphatic wins for Kerry and Westmeath
ALLIANZ NHL DIVISION 2A: Kildare 0-11 Kerry 4-13
Goals win games and Kildare were hit for four as visitors Kerry made the long journey to Newbridge a worthwhile one with a facile 14-point win.
Kerry always looked convincing winners and despite the efforts of Oisin Lynch and Tony Murphy for Kildare, the visitors claimed a 3-04 to 0-06 interval lead.
Gary O'Brien hit home Kerry's fourth goal in the 51st-minute, and with O'Brien and top scorer John Egan (2-06) in evident form, nothing other than a Kerry win looked likely.
ALLIANZ NHL DIVISION 2A: Westmeath 3-19 Wicklow 0-09
Westmeath are sitting top of the Division 2A table after they brushed aside Wicklow with a superb display at Cusack Park this afternoon.
First half goals from Derek McNicholas and Niall Kilcoyne helped the hosts to a 2-09 to 0-07 interval lead as Wicklow were badly exposed at the back.
There was no improvement from Wicklow on the restart as Seamus Qualter's side continued to work hard with Brendan Murtagh a big influence in ensuring the home win - the midlanders' third of the campaign.
