Clare and Offaly victories in division 4

ALLIANZ NFL DIVISION 4: Kilkenny 1-4 Clare 4-19

Kilkenny had a good opening quarter but Clare held them to just two second half points in this one-sided Division 4 encounter at Callan.

Good work from David Tubridy and Michael O'Shea handed Clare a 0-5 to 0-2 lead. However a 19th-minute goal from David Herity levelled the tie.

Ger Quinlan's goal, eight minutes later, saw Clare break free and take a deserved 1-14 to 1-2 half-time lead.

They failed to let up in the second half and hit a hat-trick to ease to victory.

ALLIANZ NFL DIVISION 4: Wicklow 1-6 Offaly 3-15

Niall McNamee scored ten points for Offaly and had a hand in all three of their goals as the visitors beat Wicklow at Aughrim this afternoon.

Goals from Niall Smith, John Reynolds and Nigel Grennan had Pat Roe's side 3-8 to 1-4 ahead at half-time, with Derek Daly scoring the home side's goal.

Paul Earls and Seanie Furlong were amongst those who tried hard to keep Wicklow in touch, but they left themselves with too much to do as Offaly ran out comfortable winners.
