Fermanagh maintained their winning start to NFL Division 3 by overcoming Leitrim at Carrick-on-Shannon.

The Ernesiders had to work hard for this victory, particularly as Leitrim held a 2-06 to 0-04 lead in the 37th-minute.

Wind-assisted, the hosts led 1-05 to 0-04 at half-time thanks to a Declan Maxwell goal. A fracas on the half-hour saw Leitrim's Michael Duignan and Fermanagh midfielder Marty McGrath dismissed.

Emlyn Mulligan's goal bolstered Leitrim's advantage before Fermanagh mounted a spirited comeback, topped off by Patrick Cadden's late major.
