Cork win boosts morale
Roscommon 0-15 Cork 1-14, Kiltoom
Cork's first league outing of 2008 ended in a morale-boosting win for Conor Counihan's side as they accounted for Roscommon at Kiltoom.
Eager for action after the players' strike saw them fail to field teams against Dublin and Meath, a wind-backed Cork led 0-10 to 0-6 at half-time with the impressive Daniel Goulding landing five points.
Ger Heneghan, Senan Kilbride, Gary Cox and Conor Devanney boosted Roscommon's tally.
But despite losing defender Kieran O'Connor to a late dismissal, Cork were steered home by Donnacha O'Connor's 61st-minute goal.
