Lansdowne flanker Jim O'Donovan has decided to stall his rugby career in favour of rejoining the Limerick Gaelic football panel.

Limerick manager Mickey Ned O'Sullivan has confirmed that the 26-year-old, who previously played for the Shannonsiders when Liam Kearns was in charge, is part of his 2008 squad.

O'Donovan stands at 6ft 3in and boasts plenty of power and pace, but a back injury has kept him out of action for Lansdowne this season.

The Dublin-based doctor, a midfielder in the round ball code, has joined Dublin club St Brigid's. He will train with the Limerick county panel at weekends once a knee problem clears up.
