The Mayo County Board has voted unanimously against the player grant scheme agreed between the GAA and the GPA.

Opposition to the scheme appears to be growing, with many GAA officials in the North also coming out against the agreement.

The GAA's Central Council was due to rubber-stamp the deal on Saturday, but Mayo delegate Paddy Muldoon is expected to suggest that any vote on the plan be postponed until a special Congress in January.
