Dublin confirm U21 and Minor appointments
1995 All-Ireland winner Jim Gavin has been given the nod to manage the Dublin Under-21 footballers next season.
The latest meeting of the Dublin County Board saw the Round Towers Clondalkin clubman confirmed as the capital's new U-21 boss.
Former Meath midfielder Gerry McEntee, who steered St. Brigid's to their only Dublin SFC title in 2003, has been appointed as Dublin's new minor football manager.
In hurling, former Dublin senior hurler Shay Boland will take charge of the capital's minor hurlers, while Tom Fitzpatrick, who guided the Dublin minors to Leinster championship glory in 2005, has been handed the task of managing the Under-21 team.
Fitzpatrick's backroom staff will include Jimmy O'Dwyer, John Dermody and Willie Coogan.
Commenting on the appointments, Dublin chairman Gerry Harrington said: "There's outstanding pedigree there, and I think there's plenty to look forward to in 2008."
