GAA: Power gets nod for Kilkenny

Kilkenny manager Brian Cody has made one change to his side for tomorrow's All-Ireland SHC semi-final against Wexford (Croke Park, throw-in 2pm), bringing Carrickshock clubman Richie Power into the attack.

Power, who scored 1-1 as a second half substitute against Galway last time out, has been preferred to Aidan Fogarty at right half-forward. Having been troubled by a hamstring injury earlier in the summer, it will be his first championship start since last year's All-Ireland final.

Half-backs JJ Delaney and Brian Hogan have held onto their starting places despite both being replaced against Galway.

Given their 2-24 to 1-12 hammering of Wexford in the Leinster final, Cody's reigning Leinster and All-Ireland champions are heavily favoured to win tomorrow as they bid to reach the All-Ireland final for the eighth time in ten seasons.

Team captain Henry Shefflin has been their top scorer in the 2007 championship to date with 0-29, while Eddie Brennan (2-5), Martin Comerford (0-10), Willie O'Dwyer (2-4) and James 'Cha' Fitzpatrick (0-8) have also contributed well.

The Cats have won seven and lost three of their last ten All-Ireland semi-finals.

KILKENNY (SHC v Wexford) - PJ Ryan; M Kavanagh, N Hickey, J Tyrrell; T Walsh, B Hogan, JJ Delaney; D Lyng, J Fitzpatrick; R Power, H Shefflin (capt), E Larkin; E Brennan, M Comerford, W O‘Dwyer.
