It is not just the senior hurlers of Cork and Waterford that are preparing to do battle this week - the rival counties will also contest tonight's Munster Under-21 hurling final at Walsh Park (throw-in 7pm).

The Waterford team for the U-21 decider shows two changes from the side that beat Limerick 2-14 to 2-10 in last month's semi-final.

James Nagle is serving a one-match suspension and is replaced at right corner forward by Shane Casey, the son of former senior star Tom. Casey was in brilliant form in last month's Munster intermediate final, scoring 3-5 to help the Deise to a 5-11 to 1-12 win over Limerick.

The other change in personnel sees Michael Gaffney drafted in at centre-back for the injured Jamie Kearney, Gaffney's inclusion means Jerome Maher has been switched to corner back, while, in other positional switches, Mark Gorman goes from top of the right to midfield and Mark Fives will line out at right half-forward.

Cork have also made alterations to the side that accounted for Clare - 2-14 to 1-11 - in their semi-finalin Thurles on July 17.

Midfielder Adrian Mannix and corner forward Colm O'Neill come into the starting line-up, with Brian Moylan and John Halbert the players to make way.

Team captain Shane O'Neill moves from midfield to right half-back, allowing Mannix to partner Leigh Desmond in centre-field.

O'Neill, Pa Cronin and Cathal Naughton are all included despite playing in the Cork seniors' gripping quarter-final draw with Waterford at Croke Park last Sunday.

Cork are gunning for their 19th provincial title at this grade with their last win coming in 2005 against Tipperary. Waterford last lifted the Munster U-21 crown in 1994 when they got the better of Clare in the final.
