Monaghan face Kerry in football quarter-final draw
Monaghan's reward for knocking Donegal out of the All-Ireland SFC race is a crack at defending champions Kerry in the quarter-finals.
This evening's draw for the quarter-finals, which was performed at Croke Park, has paired Seamus McEnaney's Monaghan side with Kerry.
Connacht champions Sligo were first out of the bowl and drew Munster runners-up Cork, while Meath have Ulster champions Tyrone standing in their way of a place in the All-Ireland's last-four.
Arguably the tie of the quarter-finals is the meeting of Leinster champions Dublin and qualifier kingpins Derry.
The Oak Leafers have knocked Armagh, last year's Ulster champions, the 2006 Connacht winners Mayo and a talented Laois side out of the championship in recent weeks and they will fancy their chances of putting Dublin off their stride at Croke Park.
There were two pairings not allowed in the draw - Cork v Kerry and Tyrone v Monaghan - as the teams had already met in the championship in the recent Munster and Ulster finals.
The dates, venues and throw-in times for the four quarter-finals will be confirmed by the GAA after a meeting tomorrow.
2007 All-Ireland SFC quarter-final draw:
Sligo v Cork
Tyrone v Meath
Dublin v Derry
Kerry v Monaghan.
