Brewster back in Fermanagh team

Tom Brewster's impressive second half performance against Wexford has earned him a starting berth in the Fermanagh side for tomorrow's All-Ireland SFC second round qualifier against Meath at Páirc Tailteann (throw-in 7pm).

The Fermanagh captain scored a point after being sprung from the bench at half-time in the win against Wexford and he will lead the Ernesiders' attack this weekend, coming in to replace James Sherry.

Brewster's inclusion is the only change manager Charlie Mulgrew has made to the side that gained a morale-boosting 1-12 to 1-8 win in Clones last Sunday.

In a considerable boost, 2006 All-Star Barry Owens has been passed fit to start at full-back. There had been doubts about the Teemore clubman's participation due to an ankle injury.

Former All-Star Marty McGrath has to be content once again with a place on the bench.

After watching Fermanagh break their duck against Wexford and claim their first competitive win of the season, Mulgrew reckons it will take "an improved team performance" if his charges are to beat Meath and qualify for the third round of the qualifiers.

"We were not clinical enough up front (against Wexford). I'm looking for a big improvement on the Wexford game - we need to score more," he said.

"We had a lot of possession last week and the lads inside were getting the ball, but we didn't convert enough."
