Injuries mount for Limerick

Brian Geary and Mark O'Riordan have emerged as injury doubts for Limerick's Munster SHC semi-final against Tipperary on Sunday week.

The half-back duo are struggling to be fit for the Munster championship clash, which will be played at the Gaelic Grounds (throw-in 2pm).

Geary sustained an ankle ligament injury when lining out for his club Monaleen at the weekend, while O'Riordan broke his thumb during Limerick's challenge match against Dublin on Saturday night.

Limerick did manage to beat the Dubs 3-17 to 2-9 at Parnell Park, with first half goals from Barry Foley and Pat Tobin setting them on their way.

Foley (1-4) and Brian Begley (1-1) top-scored for the Shannonsiders, whose manager Richie Bennis was situably encouraged by the display.

However, Bennis will be frustrated by Limerick's lengthening injury list - he is also monitoring the fitness of key men Niall Moran (fractured finger) and Sean O'Connor (nerve damage in leg). The Ahane attacking duo remain major doubts for the Tipp game.
