Three changes for Down

Down manager Ger Coulter has opted to make three changes to his team for tomorrow's Ulster SHC semi-final replay against Derry (Casement Park, throw-in 3.30pm).

Forward trio Jerome Trainor, Ciaran Courtney and Paddy Coulter have been recalled to the starting line-up, with Andy Bell, Gary Savage and Ciaran Coulter the players to miss out.

Last Sunday's game finished 1-13 to 0-16 with corner forward Eoin Clarke nabbing Down's goal in the first half.

Down are still missing long-term injury victim Paul Braniff, and were also struck a blow earlier this week when it was confirmed that Sunday week's Ulster final will be played at Casement Park, and not in Newry. Antrim, the defending champions, await the winners of tomorrow's replay.

The Mourne men are very hungry for an Ulster SHC title, given that it has been ten years since the county last laid their hands on the provincial trophy. Down have won just four Ulster SHC titles - in 1941, 1992, 1995 and 1997.

Whatever happens tomorrow, Down have the Christy Ring Cup to look forward to with their first group game against Westmeath pencilled in for June 23.

DOWN (SHC v Derry) - Graham Clarke; L Clarke, S Murray (capt), F Conway; G Clarke, A Dynes, M Ennis; B McGourty, A Savage; E Trainor, C Courtney, J Trainor; E Clarke, G Johnston, P Coulter.
