Gavin Kelly will start for Derry in Saturday's Ulster SHC semi-final replay against Down, Casement Park, throw-in 3.30pm.
The 20-year-old Kelly, who plays for the Ballinscreen club, caught the eye of Derry boss Gearoid O'Kane when he came on as a second half substitute in last week's drawn game. He takes the place of Sean McBride at right corner forward as Derry's only team change for the replay.
Davin McSorley retains his place at full-forward, ahead of Paddy McCloskey, while Derry will again look to free-taking midfielder Ruairi Convery to provide the scoring touch.
Convery landed eleven points last weekend, including the last-minute score that ensured the stalemate, and has scored a total of 0-21 in two championship games this term.
Last week's 0-16 to 1-13 result was the second championship draw between Derry and Down in three seasons. The teams also finished level in 2005 before Down won the replay 3-21 to 4-9.
The winners of this weekend's tie will face Antrim in the Ulster SHC final on Sunday week, with Casement Park the venue. The game will be part of a triple-header on the day, along with the Antrim v Derry matches in the Ulster senior and minor football championships.
