Injury-hit London seek elusive second win

A raft of injuries have not helped London's preparations for their Connacht SFC preliminary round clash with Leitrim on Sunday (Ruislip, throw-in 3pm).

Team manager Noel Dunning is without a host of regulars as he hopes to guide the Exiles to only their second win in the Connacht championship in 30 years - they beat Leitrim 0-9 to 0-6 in 1977.

Dunning has selected his starting team for the visit of Leitrim, and it includes free-taker Niall Clinton despite fears over his calf injury, as well as Eamonn Brennan who has a broken finger.

Francis Cleary (toe) and Senan Hehir (hamstring) are listed amongst the substitutes but seem certain to miss the tie, along with groin injury victim Sean Campbell.

A notable inclusion at centre back is Paul O'Donoghue, who was released by Tottenham Hotspurs earlier this year and will be making his championship debut this weekend.

London's last championship outing saw them lose 0-20 to 0-8 to Westmeath in last June's All-Ireland qualifiers. Only four players from that team have made Sunday's starting line-up - Brian McBrearty, Chris Beirne, Clinton and Brennan.
