The Clare team to face Cork in Sunday's Munster SHC opener includes three championship debutants (Semple Stadium, throw-in 2pm).

Goalkeeper Philip Brennan, centre back Brendan Bugler and midfielder Kevin Dilleen will all make their SHC bows.

Conor Plunkett and Bernard Gaffney are the players to miss out from the Clare side that lost to Cork in the National Hurling League on April 1.

Gaffney, who impressed during the league campaign, has been struggling with an ankle injury he picked up in training.

Banner boss Tony Considine has made two changes and one positional switch to the side that lost 1-13 to 0-14 to Cork in that league tie at Cusack Park.

Colin Lynch and Andrew Quinn have returned to the side, with veteran Lynch partnering Dilleen at midfield and Quinn listed at right corner forward.

The positional switch sees Bugler move from centre-field to centre back, where he is flanked by Alan Markham and Gerry Quinn.

CLARE (SHC v Cork) - P Brennan; G O'Grady, B O'Connell, F Lohan (capt); A Markham, B Bugler, G Quinn; C Lynch, K Dilleen; J Clancy, D McMahon, N Gilligan; A Quinn, F Lynch, B Nugent.
