Meath stick with winning formula

Eoin Harrington is the only championship debutant in the Meath side for Sunday's Leinster SFC showdown with Kildare (Croke Park, throw-in 4pm).

Corner back Harrington, who impressed in Wolfe Tones' county championship-winning run, keeps his place in the side as Meath boss Colm Coyle names the same starting 15 that lined out in their NFL Division Two final win over Roscommon.

That means former All-Ireland-winning captain Graham Geraghty, who is busy campaigning for votes as a Fine Gael General Election candidate in the Meath West constituency, will be amongst the substitutes on Sunday.

Alongside Harrington in the full-back line, veteran Darren Fay will be seeing his first championship action for Meath in almost two years.

Fay was absent during Eamonn Barry's reign last season.

Stephen Bray has been selected at right corner forward, having been cleared to play despite his recent sending-off for Navan O'Mahony's in a club game.

Meath had a disappointing championship campaign in 2006, losing by six points to Wexford at the quarter-final stage in Leinster.

They bowed out in the third round of the All-Ireland qualifiers, going down 2-13 to 0-13 to Laois.

MEATH (SFC v Kildare) - B Murphy; E Harrington, D Fay, N McKeigue; C King, A Moyles (capt), S Kenny; M Ward, N Crawford; N McLoughlin, K Reilly, P Byrne; S Bray, B Farrell, J Sheridan.
