Longford’s Barden cleared to play

The Longford County Board have succeeded in their bid to clear key attacker David Barden to take part in this Sunday's Bank of Ireland Leinster SFC opener against Westmeath at Pearse Park.

Barden appeared before the GAA's Central Appeals Committee tonight at Croke Park in a last minute bid to have his four-week suspension, awarded for a sending-off against Clare in the NFL, backdated to the day of the game.
