Galway 0-26 Tipperary 3-13

Eugene Cloonan struck 10 points with no wides as Galway stayed top of Division 1B by outlasting Tipperary at Pearse Stadium.

Tipp were forced to start without injured Daragh Egan (finger), Lar Corbett (back) and Eoin Kelly (‘flu), but Kelly did make an appearance and shared out three goals with his brother Paul.

Paul Kelly netted in the 14th-minute but Galway, with Mark Kerins scoring four points from play, led 0-12 to 1-8 at half-time.

Eoin Kelly cut through for a superb 55th-minute goal, Paul Kelly then netted his second, but Cloonan’s classy shooting kept Galway in front.
