Coleman injury blow for Galway
Galway midfielder Niall Coleman is in danger of missing his county's Connacht championship clash with Mayo on May 20.
Coleman suffered a serious shoulder injury while playing for his club Annaghdown in Sunday's Galway Senior 'B' League final with Milltown.
Following an examination of the injury, it has been confirmed that Coleman, a son of former Galway stalwart Mattie and a nephew of former All-Star hurler Michael, is facing a lay-off of at least six weeks.
He has been diagnosed with a damaged AC joint and torn ligaments.
The 21-year-old will miss the remainder of the National Football League. He scored a point as a wing forward in Galway's recent 1-8 to 1-6 defeat of Kildare.
Galway boss Peter Ford has been alternating Barry Cullinane, Joe Bergin and Paul Geraghty at midfield during the current league campaign.
