Tommy Freeman kicked eight points - five from placed balls - as the Farney men won for the fourth time to continue their impressive form.

Frank O'Dea and Rory Donnelly led the Clare attack but with Damien Freeman, Eoin Lennon, Dessie Mone and Tom Finlay all on the scoresheet for the visitors, the result was never in doubt. Monaghan had led 0-9 to 0-4 at the break.

Goals from Karol Mannion and David Hoey helped third-placed Roscommon record their third win of the league campaign - they ran out 2-9 to 1-10 away to Carlow. JJ Smith nabbed the hosts' only goal at Dr Cullen Park.

Luke Dempsey's Longford side had to dig deep to beat Leitrim 1-14 to 0-10 at Pearse Park this afternoon.
