GAA President’s Awards announced

The winners of the 2007 GAA President’s Awards were announced today.

The winners of the 2007 GAA President’s Awards were announced today.

Among the winners are former players, coaches and officials from across the country who have contributed extensively to the GAA as well as to handball, ladies football, Rounders and camogie.

GAA president Nickey Brennan said: "This year’s winners have demonstrated in their own individual capacities the true spirit of volunteerism through their involvement at club, county or provincial level."

Liam Cheasty (Waterford),

Johnny Biesty (Ballyhaunis GAA Club, Mayo),

Eamon Carney (Dromard GAA Club, Sligo),

Br Bosco Mulhare (Laois and Carlow),

Pat Holland (Annaghminnon GAA, Louth),

Gerry Buckley (Westmeath),

Podge Butler (O’Loughlins GAA, Kilkenny),

Ger Dullea (Tipperary),

Seamus Mc Grattan (Ballygalget GAA Club, Down),

Tommy O Brien (Talbot’s Inch Handball Club Kilkenny),

Sean Hughes (Erne Eagles Rounders Club, Cavan),

Tommy Barrett (Tipperary),

Naul Mc Cole (Dungloe GAA, Donegal),

Frank Kennedy (Tyrone)

The Awards will be presented at a banquet in Croke Park on Saturday, March 17 at 5.30pm.
