Westmeath maintained their 100% record in Division 1B as they held off 14-man Down at Cusack Park by 0-09 to 0-07.

Dessie Dolan struck three frees to help Westmeath to a 0-5 to 0-2 half-time lead, with Paul Bannon and Fergal Wilson also on target.
