Wins for Westmeath and Meath in Leinster U21 Football
Westmeath have beaten Wexford 1-10 to 1-7 in the Leinster U21 Football Championship at Wexford Park today.
Meath saw off Dublin 2-9 to 1-8 at Parnell Park in a determined performance.
They will now progress to the quarter-finals of the U21 Leinster Championships
Dublin never really got going in the second half, going 24 minutes of play without a score.
John O'Brien pointed on 46 minutes after playing Kelly's goal for the Dubs eight minutes before the half-time whistle.
James Queeney found the net twice for the Royals, with an early goal after six minutes and again one minute into injury time.
It was the second goal which took the wind out of Dublin going into half time.
Cian Ward, Cathal O'Dwyer and Queeney added points for Meath in the second half and despite second-half points from John O'Brien, Dermot Connolly and Paddy Andrews, Dublin are out and Meath will go on to meet Kildare in the quarter finals.
