Cooper steers Crokes to club semis
St. Brendan's (London) 0-5 Dr. Crokes (Kerry) 2-12, Ruislip
Colm 'Gooch' Cooper shot 2-5 as he guided Munster champions Dr. Crokes through to the AIB All-Ireland Club football semi-finals at Ruislip.
The Kerry star, who was Crokes' team mascot when they last won the All-Ireland title in 1992, turned in a talismanic display to end the hopes of London side St. Brendan's.
Crokes led 0-6 to 0-3 by half-time and Cooper confirmed the Kerry outfit's passage through by netting twice from the penalty spot. Upwards of 800 supporters made the journey to London from Killarney.
Crokes will face Moorefield of Kildare in a February 18 semi-final in Limerick.
