Tyrone keep place in McGrath semis despite forfeiting Derry points

Tyrone will keep their place in this year's McKenna Cup semi finals, despite having the points for their win over Derry deducted today by the Ulster Council.

It is over the county's fielding of third-level players in the January 14th clash.

Tyrone are next scheduled to meet Monaghan a fortnight from Tuesday.

Speaking from Dubai, manager Mickey Harte confirmed that he wasn't ruling out further action over the matter.

"I would still imagine that we challenge the decision that we be deducted the points from the Derry match, he said, I just don't think its right that players are not allowed to play for the county of their choice.

"I would hope that Tyrone County board would be contesting it further."
