Keoghan to take charge of Cavan
Donal Keoghan will have his appointment as Cavan's new senior football manager ratified next Monday after being offered the position by the Cavan County Executive.
The Denn clubman replaces Marty McElkennon, who quit in August after three years with the Breffni men, as senior boss.
Keoghan, a noted businessman, managed the Cavan minors in 2005.
The decision comes as somewhat of a surprise as Derryman Damien Cassidy, who assisted McElkennon in recent seasons, was touted as the favourite to succeed him.
Paul Grimley, who recently stepped down as Armagh boss Joe Kernan's assistant after five years in the Orchard county set-up, is understood to be lined up as Keoghan's assistant manager.
