Brogan only bruised
Dublin's Alan Brogan will be free to play in next month's International Rules series after a scan on his wrist showed only bruising.
The crafty centre forward was taken off at half-time in Thursday night's Dublin club championship tie between St. Oliver Plunkett's and Ballinteer, complaining of a sore arm.
But after a series of X-rays, fears that he had suffered a fractured wrist have been allayed.
The Plunkett's management are optimistic that Brogan can recover in time for the championship quarter-finals in a fortnight's time. The draw for the last eight of the Dublin SFC takes place on Monday night.
Brogan's availability will also provide a boost for Ireland manager Sean Boylan who is likely to include the capital attacker for next month's two-Test duel with Australia.
