Galway and Meath ladies draw
Galway 3-11 Meath 1-17
Gillian Joyce’s free, in the last minute of extra time, means Galway and Meath will have to replay their TG4 All-Ireland Ladies SFC quarter-final.
A Louise McKeever point, with six minutes remaining in extra time, had put the Royals in front for the first time in Portlaoise but substitute Joyce rescued a draw.
Galway led 3-4 to 0-5 at the break as Niamh Fahey (penalty), Geraldine Conneally and Annette Clarke all netted inside eight minutes.
Meath fought back with Grainne Nulty (0-3), Jackie Shiels (0-7) and Katie O’Brien (1-0) impressing – the sides finished at 3-8 to 1-14 after an hour.
