Brennan remains on Laois bench

Donie Brennan has failed to force his way into the Laois team for Sunday's All-Ireland SFC quarter-final replay against Mayo (Croke Park, throw-in 2pm).

The 19-year-old scored three classy points as a second-half substitute in the drawn game, but Brian McCormack has been retained in the attack at right half-forward.

Manager Mick O'Dwyer has made one enforced change to his side with Brennan's Arles-Killeen clubmate Paul McDonald ruled out with an ankle injury.

As expected, O'Dempsey's defender Peter O'Leary, who was impressive form at training last night, will step in for McDonald at right half-back.

Noel Garvan has been named at centre forward, but seems certain to swap roles with Ross Munnelly at full-forward.

Laois have yet to win a quarter-final tie. They lost to Armagh in both 2003 and 2005.

LAOIS (SFC v Mayo) - F Byron (capt); A Fennelly, D Rooney, J Higgins; P O'Leary, T Kelly, P McMahon; P Clancy, B Quigley; B McCormack, N Garvan, C Conway; B Sheehan, R Munnelly, B McDonald.
