Mayo football boss Moran steps down

Mickey Moran has stepped down as manager of the Mayo football team.

It is reported that Moran and assistant boss John Morrison refused to take training with the side yesterday evening.

Morrison has also tendered his resignation.

It is a major blow for the Connacht champions as they face in to an All-Ireland quarter-final clash with either Offaly or Laois less than three weeks from now.
