Neil Ronan has been promoted to the Cork starting line-up, in place of Cian O'Connor, for Saturday's All-Ireland SHC quarter-final against Limerick in Semple Stadium (throw-in 4.15pm).

It will be Ronan's first start of the 2006 championship - he came off the bench for Brian Corcoran in the Munster semi-final against Clare, and for O'Connor in the Munster final against Tipperary.

The 26-year-old Ballyhea attacker takes over from O'Connor at left half-forward this weekend for what is the All-Ireland champions' first game in the space of four weeks.

2005 All-Star Jerry O'Connor has been passed fit to resume his midfield partnership with Tom Kenny. O'Connor had been nursing a hamstring strain.

Corner forward Joe Deane, Cork's top scorer with 0-17 from their two Munster games, will hope to continue the form which saw him pick up the Opel Gaelic Player of the Month award for June yesterday.

The Rebels are bidding to reach the All-Ireland semi-finals for the fourth successive year.
