Déise's Flynn in fitness fight
Waterford team captain Paul Flynn is in danger of missing Sunday's All-Ireland SHC quarter-final against Tipperary (Croke Park, throw-in 4pm).
The 31-year-old corner-forward has been dogged by a thigh muscle strain for the past month. His only involvement in the Déise's run through the qualifiers was as a substitute in the home defeat to Galway on July 2.
If Flynn, who is rated at 50-50 for his side's first trip to Croke Park since last year's quarter-final against Cork, fails to recover in time, Waterford boss Justin McCarthy is expected to stick with the full-forward line he has used for the past three games.
John Mullane, Michael Walsh and Eoin McGrath formed Waterford's first line of attack throughout the qualifiers, scoring 3-20 among, them with De La Salle star Mullane bagging 2-9.
Defenders Tom Feeney (shoulder) and Eoin Murphy, who lasted just 22 minutes against Laois following a nasty collision, are both expected to return to the line-up.
