Bergin back in Galway side
Joe Bergin has been slotted back into the Galway side for Sunday's Connacht SFC final against Mayo (Castlebar, throw-in 2pm).
The Mountbellew/Mouylough clubman returns after missing the semi-final defeat of Roscommon last month due to a knee injury. The 25-year-old Bergin comes in at left half-forward.
Paul Geraghty, who started at midfield against the Rossies, makes way with team captain Michael Donnellan now partnering Niall Coleman in centre-field.
Galway boss Peter Ford has made two other changes - student Brian Donoghue replaces Alan Keane in goal, and Kieran Fitzgerald is dropped in favour of Michael Comer, an All-Ireland Under-21 winner in 2002, in a re-organised defence.
Donoghue has recovered from the head/neck injuries he sustained in a club game at the start of the month, while Keane had nowhere to hide when his poor clearance allowed Enda Kenny to solo through and grab Roscommon's only goal in the semi-final.
Comer has been named at left half-back with Damien Burke moving to the left corner.
There has been a vacancy left at centre forward as Derek Savage continues his recovery from a quad muscle injury. The 28-year-old, who won an All-Star in 2000, will undergo a fitness test on Friday evening but he is expected to start.
It is the fifth year in a row that Galway have met Mayo in the Connacht championship - the Tribesmen have won three of the last four tussles.
