Under-21 player Paddy Dowd has been brought into the Longford side for Saturday's All-Ireland SFC second round qualifier against Tipperary (Pearse Park, throw-in 7pm).
Manager Luke Dempsey has made one change to the team that defeated Waterford (1-16 to 1-09) in the first round as Clonguish clubman Dowd replaces the injured Jamesie Martin at full-forward.
Dowd actually played for over an hour in the win over the Deise after coming on for his fellow Under-21 panellist Bernard McElvaney (injured), and impressing at centre-field.
He also slotted over an excellent point from distance during the second half.
McElvaney and Liam Keenan are retained in the Longford midfield despite both being forced off with injuries against Waterford.
Saturday marks the first championship clash between Longford and Tipperary.
Longford have won four of their nine qualifiers since the system was introduced in 2001.
