Algarve trip for Moran's Mayo

Mayo manager Mickey Moran is bringing his charges to the Algarve next week for a training stint in the sun.

Moran, his selectors John Morrison and Kieran Gallagher, and the 30-man playing panel will travel to Brownes Sports resort in Portugal next Tuesday as they build up for their Connacht SFC semi-final against Leitrim on June 25.

Ahead of the seven-day stay, Moran said: "It won't be a 'training week' of long distance running, we'll be getting through some quality work.

"A lot of the players' exams are finished so with the week away we can really concentrate on Leitrim."

There are no new injury worries for Mayo after last weekend's 1-18 to 0-08 defeat of London.

Crocked midfielder Ronan McGarrity (Achilles tendon) and vice-captain and forward Trevor Mortimer (leg muscle tissue) are due to return to the fray shortly.
